Healing the burning in his dad almost killed him when he tried it the first time, but when he started small and went slow, he found he could heal a very little at a time, and grew stronger each time. The power doesn't work on long term illnesses, or ailments that are too strong, but he found he could heal the little things, aches, pains, and soreness, easily, over and over.

Even so, healing takes both laying on his hands on flesh, and also a great deal of energy. He has learned over time to manage his power.
